At present, in many other countries including India, the rules and regulations related to workers working for 8 hours are in force. Supported by the international labor movement, socialists, communists and anarchists, this day is also historically related to the Kelt Basant Festival. The election was held during the Second International Meeting to commemorate the Haymarket event, which took place on 4 May 1886.

After this, in the second meeting of the International General Assembly in Paris in 1889, a resolution was passed in which it was mentioned that May 1 should be celebrated as International Labor Day, since then in 80 countries of the world, May Day / Labor Day as a national holiday. The followers of this day are all the working laborers and their labor unions and individuals.

Before 1886, workers in America were made to work for 10 to 15 hours in a day, their safety was not even taken care of during the work, they used to get many injuries, some people used to get seriously injured and So many laborers also used to die during the work.

Against this, in 1886, the voices of the citizens and laborers were raised and they came out for demonstration on the streets. During the second meeting of the 1986 International Socialist Conference, May 1 is considered to be the beginning of celebrating International Workers’ Day or May Day.

In Europe, this day has been traditionally declared as a spring holiday and in about 80 countries of the world this day has been declared as a National Holiday. In Canada and the United States, Labor Day falls on the first Monday of September.

Why celebrate International Labor Day

The biggest reason for celebrating this day is to celebrate the achievements of the workers and spread awareness about their exploitation. This issue was started to celebrate this day under the chairmanship of Hindustan.
